MARCH MADNESS
(IN THE REF'S BRAIN!)
(IN THE REF'S BRAIN!)
The NCAA Men's basketball tournament is nigh upon us. I'm going with the bold yet extremely vain pick of Xavier to go all the way. This is a year for redemption.
Three years ago, Duke beat Xavier during the Elite 8 game after the referees wrongly fouled out Xavier's star center Anthony Myles with 12 minutes left to play. They called two fouls on Myles within 6 seconds! That's got to be some kind of record. From USA TODAY: "The Musketeers were hurt when Anthony Myles, who netted 16 points, picked up a pair of questionable fouls [emphasis added] - his fifth of the game coming with 12:27 left and Xavier holding a 44-41 lead..."
Mark my words. Xavier will get further than Duke in this year's tournament...
3/15 Update - Beware the Ides of March, Duke fans (sorry, Sadie) - LOL - talk about karma, baby. Xavier upset BYU and Duke lost to an 11-seed in the First Round! Already Xavier will go further than Duke...
3/17 Update: I may have a had a few too many Irish car bombs but... Xavier got ripped off!!! AGAIN!!!!! If you think I'm biased... WATCH THE VIDEO HERE. Decide for yourself.

FROM NOLA TO LA JOLLA
I've never read an Anne Rice book before... but I've been to her Halloween parties (thanks to Sadie). As I prepare for my return to the Big Easy, I'm disappointed to hear that the writer formerly known as Howard(?) Allen O'Brien [Rice] has moved away from NOLA to La Jolla, CA.
Let me start again because my thoughts are scattered across tangents upon tangents. I've never read an Anne Rice book before... but I've just begun The Vampire Lestat after MoFo told me that I would enjoy it given my recently revealed affinity for wolves. I've already seen the movie version of Interview with a Vampire (+) as well as Queen of the Damned (-), so MoFo thought I'd appreciate and enjoy Lestat's backstory... and I am! I might even join Rice's fan club which carries Lestat's name - that way I can get an invite to her Halloween parties again... though now that she doesn't live in New Orleans anymore, I'm not sure if the celebration will still have the same gothicly grim and grotesque gala feel to it...
Femme-bots. They weren't grotesque...
I'm having a hard time maintaining focus it seems... I should probably stop writing for today except I wanted to say...
I'm going to JAZZFEST, baby!
