Saw an amazing show at the Fillmore. Ozumatli - a ten-member Brazilian hip-hop funk band. They've won a grammy and they sure deserve it because these guys have got it going on. If you're looking for something cool and fun and upbeat, IMOL highly recommends.

I saw them open for Galactic at the Warfield on NYE in 2001, and again at a music festival in Brussels, Belgium a few months later (where I actually got to chat with them for a bit). They are a lot of fun. They're from Mexico, but their music is eclectic and does have a lot of brazilian drumming.
Real treat, glad you found them!
